Global Operations + Supply Chain

Our Global Operations team is responsible for taking the ideas and innovations from Research + Development and bringing them to life through our best-in-class manufacturing processes.

Our Global Supply Chain organization is responsible for procuring the raw material for manufacturing and ensuring our final product is delivered to our customers.

These roles are global in nature and consist of direct labour roles (including machining, finishing, assembling, packaging, and manufacturing technicians), production supervisors and managers, downstream engineering, buyers, planners, field logistics, and operational excellence, among others.

Research + Development

Innovation is at the heart of Smith+Nephew. We deliver new products that empower healthcare professionals with options to improve patient outcomes.

We develop technologies through our global Research + Development (R+D) programme, and by acquiring and integrating exciting technologies where we can add value and make a meaningful difference to our customers and their patients.

In this organisation, you might work as a Development Engineer, a Research Scientist, a Software Engineer, a Clinical Strategy Specialist, or any other number or roles that enable us to deliver meaningful innovation.

Our R+D roles are primarily based in Andover, MA, Memphis, TN, and Pittsburgh, PA with operations also in China, Singapore, Germany, Switzerland and the UK.

Quality Assurance + Regulatory Affairs

When it comes to our products, our Quality and Regulatory Affairs teams are responsible for ensuring we’re delivering the best in quality as well as maintaining compliance with global industry regulations.

In this organization, you might work as a Quality Engineer, a Quality Systems Manager, a Quality Technician, a Regulatory Affairs Specialist, or any other role that supports the safety of our products.

Commercial Franchises

Our Commercial Franchises represent our customer-facing operations and fulfill the promise of Life Unlimited by providing account management, creating product awareness, and delivering product education to our medical partners with a commitment to improving patient outcomes.

It consists of roles in Sales, Marketing, and Medical Education. Most of these roles are global and US field-based (remote) roles, that are responsible for specific geographic areas to ensure we are fully engaged with caregivers and their patients, wherever they may be.

Corporate Services

Our corporate services teams are here to provide the partnership, strategic advice, and support our employees need at all levels across our business, enabling them to focus on delivering the best products and service to our customers.

Those teams include Finance, IT, Human Resources, Legal & Compliance, as well as Business Development & Corporate Affairs.

In Corporate Services, you might work as a Finance Business Partner, an IT Business Analyst, a Cybersecurity Engineer, an HR Business Partner, a Communications Specialist, or an Attorney.

Our Corporate Services teams support our employees from all over the world.

Global Business Services

Our Global Business Services (GBS) teams provide support services to employees at all levels across the business to ensure we operate efficiently and effectively.

With a focus on process improvement, our GBS teams support the business in areas like procurement, finance, IT, and HR administration.

You might work as a Payroll Accountant, an IT Support Specialist, an HR Services Specialist, or any other role that provides support services to the business.

Our GBS teams might be site based at one of our global locations or based in one of our GBS Centers in Costa Rica, Poland, or India.
